The City of Encinitas, CA encompasses five communities including Historic Encinitas, The New Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leucadia and Olivenhain. The La Paloma Theatre, opened in 1928 and still operating today, was one of the country’s first theatres to show talking pictures. Drive the streets of Encinitas and hunt for The Boathouses, possibly the most notorious buildings in the Encinitas real estate market. At Christmas time, Encinitas is the place to be for poinsettias, or other ornamental flowers grown locally by the city’s largest industry.
